CM to give awards for excellent performance in e-governance
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will give away awards to officers and institutions for excellent performance in e-governance. The function will be held at Hotel Noor-us-Sabah Palace at 6 pm on July 10, 2012. This is the sixth year of these awards instituted by Madhya Pradesh Government. The awards will be given in eight categories.
The eight categories include IT for Message, Best Application Software, Best Use of Mobile Technology, Best Employer in IT, Best Innovation of Technology in Government Functioning, Best Use of GIS, Best Use of GPR and IT Person of the Year.
For the first seven categories, 40 nominations were received. The jury took decision after seeing presentations made by all the participants. The jury consisted of NESCOM Senior Vice-President Rajiv Vaishnav, National Institute of Smart Governance Senior General Manager Piyush Gupta, e-Government magazine Chief Editor, Rajiv Bagga, Chairman and Convener CSE Nililant Award Vasudev Dehalkar and head of department in MANIT.
Applications were not invited for Person of the Year Award. This award is decided by the jury suo moto by selecting a person of distinguished fame in Madhya Pradesh in IT sector.
This year, entries were sent by several departments like Panchayats and Rural Development, Urban Administration, Land Records and Finance, several collectors and Rural Roads Authority. Besides, private sector entrepreneurs and institutions like Express Media Service, CRISP, MP Online had also sent their entries. A sum of Rs one lakh, citation and trophy will be given to each winner and citations and trophies as consolation prizes in each category.
The function will be presided over by Information Technology Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya. Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Chairman Prem Shankar Verma and Chief Secretary R Parasuram will be special guests.
