    CM’s urban development scheme gets Cabinet nod

    The State Cabinet on Tuesday endorsed Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for better development of cities. The Rs 1428-crore scheme is the largest of its kind.

    Under the scheme, basic facilities would be developed in urban areas of the state. Special attention would be paid to development of infrastructure in cities having tourist and religious importance. The works would include roads, urban transport, beautification of cities, development of social infrastructure, parks, conservation of heritage and tourism-related schemes.

    The urban bodies, which would be allocated funds under the scheme, would have to implement time-bound improvement programme. As per financial structure of the scheme, the State Government would give 30 per cent subsidy and a loan of 70 per cent. Repayment of loan and interest would be made by the State Government in 15 to 20 years and the remaining 25 per cent would be repaid by the urban body concerned. The scheme would be implemented from the current fiscal.

    The cabinet decided to allot 154.156 hectares of government land at Sandni and Baraithi villages in Chhatarpur district to National Thermal Power Corporation for establishment of a super thermal power project. The land would be provided at a rate of Rs 5 lakh per acre or according to guidelines for the year 2012-13 on market rates and industrial lease rents, whichever is more. The capacity of this project would be 6X660 megawatts.

    The cabinet decided to allot 128.979 hectares of land at Meharkhera, Chorbarhat, Gangai, Umaria, Dongargaon and Kuradi villages in Narsinghpur district for establishment of NTPC’s super thermal power project. The land would be provided at a rate of Rs 5 lakh per acre or according to guidelines for year 2012-13 on market rates and industrial lease rents, whichever is more.



    Also decided to create post of director in health dept

    It was also decided in the Cabinet meeting to create a post of Director in the Public Health and Family Welfare Department. An Indian Administrative Service officer would be posted on it. The post would not be filled up through departmental

    promotion but by availing the

    services of an IAS officer

    on deputation.

    The Cabinet decided to upgrade 21 sub-jails to district jails in four phases. Three sub-jails at Balaghat, Mandsaur and Morena would be upgraded in the first phase, sub-jails of Guna, Shivpuri, Sehore, Dewas, Bhind and Panna in the second phase in year 2013-14, sub-jails of Vidisha, Khargone, Raisen, Mandla, Katni and Neemuch would be upgraded in the third phase in 2014-15 and sub-jails of Ashok Nagar, Sheopur, Baidhan, Umaria, Harda and Dindori would be upgraded to district jails in 2015-16.

    The cabinet gave its nod to increase the retirement age of company cadre employees of Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company Limited, Bhopal from 58 to 60 years. Option would be given to class-I, II and III employees of Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board, who have been merged finally with Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company to accept the choice of retirement at 60 years of age.
