PM to DRDO: Focus on potential areas
Against the backdrop of delays in several key military projects, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday said indigenous content in defence procurement was ‘low’ and asked DRDO to focus on areas where it has the capacity to deliver within reasonable time. Speaking at the DRDO Technology Awards function here, the PM also praised the bio-toiletsdeveloped by the DRDO saying these could go a long way in solving the problem of open defecation in rural India.
