Suresh Babu, who had surrendered to the ACB on Monday on receiving the notice from the agency regarding his alleged role in the cash-for-bail scam, was produced in court on Tuesday and he was remanded in judicial custody till August14.

Before surrendering to the ACB, Suresh Babu, who represents Kampli constituency in Karnataka, had said that he had nothing to do with the cash-for-bail scam and had come only because the ACB had summoned him. But according to the remand diary of the ACB he has admitted his role saying he was a close friend of the Gali brothers for a long time and had visited Janardhana in jail several times. Suresh Babu told the investigators that he also knew Dasrath Rami Reddy, a relative of Janardhana and another accused in the case.

According to the ACB, Suresh Babu revealed that the entire deal for securing bail was of `20 crore in which judge Patthabi, retired judge Chalapati Rao and Yadgiri Rao had a share of `5 crore each and another `5 crore was meant for the “court expenses”.
