    Himachal monsoon session set to be stormy
    Stormy start is expected of the four-day Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly with Oppositions likely to corner the Government over corruption charges.

    Congress will upbeat with the appointment of five-time Chief Minister and Mandi MP Virbhadra Singh as its State unit chief and will try to grill the government over corruption charges leveled in the charge-sheet submitted to the President last week.

    Government, on the other hand, will be taking advantage of the last session of the current Assembly and will try to highlight its achievements and will bring number of amendments and a new Bill granting 33 per cent reservation to women in cooperative

    societies. The Congress, on August 22, gave a “charge sheet” to President Pranab Mukherjee against the Government in the hill state and demanded an inquiry against it.

    In the “chargesheet”, the Congress accused Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal of extending favours to his son Anurag Thakur, a BJP MP, and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) controlled by him.
