Modi to get tech savvy, to interact on G+ Hangout

Modi to get tech savvy, to interact on G+ Hangout

With just few weeks to go for the schedule declaration of the Assembly election, Chief Minister Narendra Modi would hit the cyberspace in a big way on Aug 31 with an interactive session in the Google+ Hangout, a new networking tool.

Modi would be the world’s only third political leader to hold such Google+ Hangout session, the others being US President Barack Obama and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. He is the first Indian leader to use the Google+ Hangout to interact with people.

Modi was also the first Chief Minister to start his own website and blog and joined the social media like Facebook and Twitter too to remain in touch with his followers.

The Hangout session, to be held from 8 pm on August 31, would be anchored by Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn who had earlier met Modi and invested in solar power project in Gujarat.

Though the theme of the Hangout session would be ‘Strong and glorious India long cherished by Swami Vivekananda’, the questions already received indicate that the Chief Minister would be able launch his election campaign through this interaction in cyberspace.

Of the 5,000 questions received for the August 31 Hangout session, a sizable relate to issues like Gujarat’s development, Modi’s vision about specific sectors and also the failures of the UPA Government at the Centre.

In view of the huge response received for the session, the deadline for sending more questions has

been extended till midnight of August 29.

With Modi being the host of the Hangout session and Ajay Devgn as anchor, there would be eight more participants in the interaction while rest of the cyber fans can watch it live.
