Loss in revenue: Energy Dept to pull up discoms
Concerned over spiralling losses in UP Power Corporation Limited, State energy department might take strict action against chief engineers in all discoms for not taking interest in revenue realisation which have been on top priority of state government in last five months.
In fact the revenue realisation is on decline since formation of new government despite Energy department being looked after by the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav himself. Alarmed by the situation principal secretary (Energy) and chairman of UPPCL, Anil Kumar Gupta has called on a meeting of all zonal chief engineers in power corporation on Monday to ascertain responsibility for drop in revenue.
The UPPCL chairman has asked zonal chief engineers to come prepared with facts leading to drop in revenue while power supply in the state was mainly based on purchases from the central pool and private power trading companies.
