NIA may declare Pehelwan a proclaimed offender
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is all set to declare Rajinder Pehelwan, one of the accused in Samjhauta blast case as a proclaimed offender after he went missing from his hometown.
On February 18, 2007, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) exploded on the Lahore-bound train near Dewana railway station, Panipat, killing 68 people and injuring 12. Most of the victims were Pakistani nationals. After this, a hunt was launched to arrest the culprits.
NIA has put an application before special judge Kanchan Mahi at Panchkula on Monday in this regard. RK Handa, advocate NIA said that search is on for nabbing the accused but he is nowhere to be seen for the past few months.
