Women power galore Nitish residence
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s much flaunted Janata Darbar on Monday witnessed an exemplary show of women power at Chief Minister’s residence as Kala Devi along with two others were relentlessly demanding the personal intervention of Kumar for the settlement of their grievances.
Nitish Kumar, himself a great votary of women empowerment, was taken aback by the sudden outburst of their anger.
Reaching the State capital with a great hope from a remote village, Kevati in Darbhanga district, Kala Devi lost her cool when Kumar sent her to an officer for her grievances’ redressal
Already frustrated over the delaying tactics of the junior level bureaucrats at block level, she was not convinced that her trials and tribulations will come to an end after meeting another bureaucrat at the Janata Darbar and hence started demanding personal intervention of Nitish Kumar.
Another woman, Manju Devi from neighbouring Khagaul in Patna district, was demanding that the police should produce her daughter live or dead. Her daughter is missing for the last several months and the possibility of her being a dowry victim is also not ruled out.
They were ultimately cooled down but not before Kumar and other senior officers finally brought the curtains down on a high voltage drama which was played under the full glare of the electronic media.
