Assam CM Visits Guwahati blast site
The Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today visited the Guwahati blast site. He also went to GMC Hospital to meet the injured persons and announced aid to the blast victims here on Sunday. One person was killed on Saturday night in an explosion at Paltan Bazar area in Guwahati. Unidentified persons set off a hand grenade targeting CRPF personnel near the Assam State Transport Corporation ticket counter adjacent to the Paltan Bazar police station in Guwahati at about 7:45 pm. Kamrup (Metro) District Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Agnihotry said, a CRPF man, Bhawani Singh, was injured in the blast and succumbed to his injury on the way to hospital. While another nine, including two CRPF jawan, were wounded in the blast. The injured were immediately evacuated to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital, Agnihotry said.
