JDU gears up for Nitish’s Adhikar Yatra
The mood is quite upbeat in the JD(U) camp in Bihar as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to start his “Adhikar Yatra” from September 18, covering all the 37 districts during his month-long blitzkrieg tour programme.
State JD (U) Ministers, who have been given charge of various districts, are leaving nothing to chance to make the “Adhikar Yatra” a grand success. Already, programmes are being organised from block level to the district level to mobilise people and create a mood in support of the demand for the status of special State.
The “Adhikar Yatra” would be followed by “Adhikar Rally” at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on November 4.
Though Nitish Kumar organised several such tours in the past too but the “Adhikar Yatra” assumes a greater significance in view of the fact that this journey is being organised at a time when the aspirations of the people are growing in the State.
State JD (U) president and Rajya Sabha Member, Vashishtha Narayan Singh told The Pioneer that the UPA Government can not ignore the demand of the State any longer. All political parties in Bihar want the State should be accorded a special State status. The Nitish Kumar Government has taken a resolve not to take rest until the UPA Government gives the State its due right.
The Centre has to adopt an integrated approach for the all round development of the country and it could not leave any particular region to suffer because of its lopsided view.
Senior JD (U) leader and State Food and Consumer Protection Minister Shyam Rajak said that “Adhikar Sammelans” will be organised in all 543 blocks of the State. He said that 480 such meetings have already been held in the State so far. “Zila Adhikar Sammelans” will also be organised at the later stage.
