Probe into film shooting inside Corbett sought
Tour operators who have been on ‘dharna’ for the past about 45 days in Ramnagar against ban on tourism activities in core zone of the Corbett Tiger Reserve(CTR), have demanded a probe into making of a film on CTR in the same prohibited core zone of the said park.
It is quite surprising to know that, on the one hand, tourism activities have been banned in the core zone of the CTR and on the other, permission was granted to a private firm to do commercial activities like making of a film on CTR in the same prohibited core zone of it, alleged, Madan Joshi, a senior member of the save tourism , save employment committee which has been staging agitation in protest against ban on tourism activities in the core zone of the CTR for over one and half a month in Ramnagar, while talking to The Pioneer.
Since the matter related to allowing tourism activities in the core zone of the CTR is presently lying before the Supreme Court, how anyone can be allowed to conduct any kind of commercial activities like even filmmaking in the core zone of the CTR, asked Joshi.
