Jumbo tramples youth to death
A wild elephant trampled a young plantation worker at Pooppara near Munnar in Kerala’s Idukki district on Friday morning.
The youth was identified as Raghu (24), a worker of the Puthuppara Estates. Raghu was going to the plantation for the day’s work at about 7.30 am Friday when the elephant rushed out from a nearby cardamom plantation and attacked him. His companions scared the animal away by shouting and took him to the Primary Health Centre in nearby Rajakumari but his life could not be saved.
