Mohanlal (മോഹന്*ലാല്* in Malayalam)(born May 21, 1960), is an Indian actor of Malayalam films.He is one of those rare actors who has won accolades from both the commercial and parallel film industry . He is rated as one of the most talented & complete actors in the Indian film industrty. He has acted in more than 270 movies, most of them in Malayalam. He has received ?Padma Shri?, one of the nations highest civilian honours. He is the youngest actor to get national award for best actor at the age of 31.He also won the National award for the best actor two times for films Bharatham (1991) and highly acclaimed Vaanaprastham (1999).He won the Special Jury Award for the film Kireedam. The film Vanaprastham, produced by him also won the National award for the best feature film in 1999. He has been the uncrowned king of Malayalam filmdom for nearly three decades.Iruvar was his major works in Tamil, the role of MGR.
