Devil Dance At Anumanthapuram,chennai
i am posted a small video clipping on devil dance sequences by some comitted womenin the temple at Anumanthapuram a small village near chennai.ppl croweded here on every fullmoon day and worship the village deities AKORAVEERAPATHTHIRAR and KALIAMMAN.
Among other things ppl believe that the deities are capable of chasing DEVILS.
mostly women are performing dancing sequences infront of the deities guided by priests.The
dancing women are suffering from either physical or mental illness which cant be cured by anyway.
Ultimately they reached such deities and offered dances and reavealed their problems.
The interesting point to be noted is after visiting these temples in a few times they feel that theyare cured completely
